Final Fantasy XVI is on the horizon, well into development, so for now we only know the bare minimum about a handful of characters. But already the next mainline game looks to have an intriguing cast.
It should therefore be noted that even though this list of Final Fantasy 16 characters is so far a bit sparse, we do know who the main protagonist will be (Clive Rosfield) and we also know about characters associated with the likes of Rosaria, Sanbreque and Waloed.
We’ll have to wait a while longer to experience the world of Valisthea and its Mothercrystals, but for now, here’s what we know about the game’s cast.
Main Characters
In Final Fantasy XVI players will assume the role of Clive Rosfield, firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria. So far the other main characters consist of Joshua, his younger brother and the Dominant of Phoenix, and Jill, a ward of Rosaria who was raised as a sister to them.

Rosaria is not the only nation to have a Dominant, a servant of an Eikon. Presumably, Clive will clash against with his brother’s competition at some point. Or will they actually be allies? Time will tell!
Eikons
Eikons, Final Fantasy XVI‘s version of summons, are key to the nations of Valisthea. Their relationships with the Eikons and the Dominants who represent them shapes their identities, and their interactions with other nations.
